Russia does not pose any serious health problems to a Western traveler and has no special vaccination requirements but we always recommend that you stay up-to-date with your shots, particularly when traveling. We always recommend that you use bottled water while traveling and stay away from food sold at the street stalls. One final word of warning, Russia is ridden with sexually transmitted diseases. Should you require medical care, Moscow has a number of Western style clinics. The price is comparable to that of the West but many of them may accept your regular insurance. It is a good idea to check with your insurance company whether you have international coverage.
